4-5 Day Namibian Adventure: Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Sandwich Harbour, and Etosha
National Park (NB: This is inclusive of a 4x4 double cab bakkie with camping gear, fuel and Campsite fees).
Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei (Namib Desert)
Distance: ~360 km (5-6 hours drive)
• Morning:
o Depart early from Windhoek and drive toward Sossusvlei via Rehoboth and
Solitaire.
o Stopover: Tropic of Capricorn Sign for a photo opportunity.
o Optional visit to Solitaire to enjoy the famous apple pie and refuel.
• Afternoon:
o Check into accommodations near Sossusvlei, such as:

▪ Mid-range: Desert Quiver Camp

o Visit Sesriem Canyon, a small but fascinating natural canyon.

Day 2: Sossusvlei and Deadvlei
Highlights: Dune 45, Big Daddy, Sossusvlei, and Deadvlei
• Early Morning:o Depart before sunrise to climb Dune 45, a stunning spot to watch the sunrise over
the Namib Desert.
o Continue to Big Daddy, one of the tallest dunes, for a rewarding climb.
o Explore Deadvlei, a surreal white clay pan with ancient, dead camelthorn trees
surrounded by red dunes.
• Late Morning:
o Visit Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan where the iconic desert landscapes unfold.
• Afternoon:
o Return to your lodge or campsite for relaxation. Optional: Book a scenic flight or
hot air balloon ride over the dunes for a unique perspective.
Day 3: Sossusvlei to Walvis Bay/Sandwich Harbour
Distance: ~350 km (5-6 hours drive)
• Morning:
o Drive through the scenic Namib-Naukluft Park toward Walvis Bay.
o Stopover: Kuiseb Pass and Gaub Pass for breathtaking desert landscapes.
• Afternoon:
o Arrive in Walvis Bay. Check into accommodations:

o Take a stroll along the Walvis Bay Lagoon, home to flamingos and pelicans.

• Afternoon:
o Begin your journey to Etosha National Park.
